Game on 08/08/2010

Jim was awesome enough to take pictures and write about a pivotal point of the heads-up match.

We don't do this enough... I'd love to write more about games and either take pictures or videos of them.  Maybe next season!

Here's Jim's write-up:

Chris and I are heads-up. This would be approximately hand #20. With $27000 in chips on the table, Chris has $13,200 and I have $13,800. Blinds were $300/$600. After the flop, we had each gone all-in.

Chris has 2 pairs, I have an open ended straight flush draw.

Turn card is an Ace. This gives me even more outs if a 2 hits. Image #2.

River is a K. Chris wins the $26,200 pot. I have $800 left. Image #3.

Incredibly, I was able to come back and capture 40% of his chip stack. We eventually went all-ins again and Chris took down the tournament.

2nd place with quad points pretty much secures me for "Player of the Year"! Holler!

Shall I state the obvious slip in Jim's assessment of the hand development in image #2?

WOW! Took me a couple of times before I figured it. That's why Chris Boulay is a better poker player than I am. I have no shame in admitting it.

Nice observation Mr. Boulay. Now let's see how many others will pick up on my amature obvious slip.

That you already had deuces as outs on the flop?  Yeah, I noticed that, but didn't want to alter your write-up.  That's why you're player of the year... always correctly counting your outs!
