Hey everybody!
I've been talking to Jim over the past couple of weeks, and he's expressed interest in changing the regular routine we've had with our games, particularly in regards to chip stacks.
I've always enforced consistency within our games, and come to think of it, I really don't know why. I think it may have been to always ensure a level playing field throughout all point games, but I would suggest that it doesn’t really matter; it's always going to be even when we first start. The more we talked, the more it just made sense to allow the host to change things up.
Therefore, for those of you who schedule games, feel free to alter the games as you wish; things that can change are the starting chip stacks and the re-buy stacks. The only thing I would like to see always remain the same would be the blinds structure. I think it’s worked well and there’s no reason to change that.
So, if you want to have everybody start up with 3000 in chips, we will just consider that a deep stack tournament. If you want to have players re-buy for the full buy-in amount and receive a full chip stack, then go for it. Please ensure to indicate this in the comments of the game, otherwise, the default will be assumed (1500 starting chip stack, rebuys, if available, will be half the money for half the chips).
If anybody has any questions or concerns, feel free to e-mail me.
Cheers!
Dave
