Konnichiwa boys and girls! Just a quick post to let everybody know that the Bad Beat Pot was won at the last game!
This is how it played out. The blinds were 10/20 and everybody folded to me, on the button. I look down at 2/4 off suit and figure it might be a tricky hand if I hit huge, plus, I'll have position the entire hand, so I limp in. Marcel completes the big blind and Allison checks.
The flop comes 2 5 2, rainbow. Marcel checks, Allison checks and I bet out 60. The blinds call. The turn is a 10 (or something insignificant), Marcel bets out 120 and both Allison and I call.
The river comes a 5. It’s probably the worst card in the deck for me – I was putting either Marcel or Allison on a 5. Marcel checks, Allison bets out 105(ish?) and after much deliberation, I call, so does Marcel.
I flip over my 24, 22255 hand, Marcel shows 23 giving him the same hand, and Allison flips over A5, giving her the better full house.
I only clued in that it was a bad beat in the middle of the following hand, and I actually held up the play for a few seconds because I was going over the hand in my head to make sure that it was actually a bad beat. I yell out, I just got bad beat-ed! Nobody else paid the bad beat fee that day; I scooped up a nice 50 bucks. Thanks for donking out on me, Allison!
We’ll keep the Bad Beat Pot going, even though there seems to be a lack of interest. Remember, a voluntary $2 fee can be paid before the start of each point game and if a bad beat has been suffered, the jackpot will be paid 70% to the person who received the bad beat, and 30% to the person who gave the bad beat. If one player has not paid his or her fee for that game, the entire jackpot will be paid to the other person. If neither player has paid the bad beat jackpot fee, the pot will not be paid. As a reminder a bad beat is any full house that is beaten.
** All of the above blinds and chip counts are made up and I really don’t have any clue what they were. But you get the idea. **

Yeah, I'm shady that way.
But honestly, it was nice to win it, cuz the rest of the day was just a free roll. I didn't mind having my aces cracked and being outdrawn almost every hand. I was already up!

Weak..... should need to use both hole cards, would not hit as often and give the pot an opportunity to grow before someone hits it.

I don't know how you did it but clearly you won the poker table years ago and now the bad beat jackpot!
