Season 7 - Game 2

by Todd Melanson • May 4, 2009

Well it’s a beautiful Sunday and not such a great day to be sitting inside but hell what can you do?? Well it’s been awhile since we had a full table but here we are 12 players on two tables.

The action started around 12:15, with not too much action until Christine made a mistake against Marcel thinking she had a boat but only had trips. Marcel took down the pot with an actual full house!

Full houses blessed the other table as I got a boat and took some chips off of Ron.

Ron’s luck didn’t change as Corey's 2nd pair of bullets in a row busted Ron and his AJ. It’s a good thing for Ron there was 1 rebuy!

Mike was the next casualty and Christine forced him to rebuy also.

Sherry says Marcel is a fucker due to a 430 call on the turn with an opened ended straight / flush draw when she had 2 pair. Marcel hit on the river and took a huge pot from Sherry.

Marc was the next casualty with a 3 way all-in. Each player had top pair with Mike taking it down with the best kicker and leaving Scott on life support.

Ron took down a huge pot with some keen poker skills. Jim raises pre flop and Ron is the only caller. The flop come Two of Clubs Three of Clubs Two of Spades.

Ron bets out 300, Jim raises to 500. Ron makes an instant all in announcement for 900 more and Jim lays it down as Ron shows an open ended straight flush draw and takes down a massive pot on a draw! This boy means business.

Sherry was the next casualty as Marcel finished her off and we are down to 10 and a merged table.

1st hand of merged table Jim pushes with JJ and Mike calls with TT, on the flop comes TT9!! Quads!!! Needless to say that the end of Jim's day and we are down to 9!

I’m getting pretty short stacked at this point so last hand before the break, I pushed all-in with AK and Ron called me with AA! Just my luck eh? Flop comes 695 turn 7. I’m down to 4 outs which would result in a split, any 8. Wouldn’t you know it, I hit my river 8! Not only did I get extremely lucky, I also won 250 during the race off!

The next out is Scott, his QQ were cracked by Marcel and his AJ when an Ace fell on the flop.

The very next hand I got eliminated by Christine and her trip 8's. Who says top 2 pair are great???

Please feel free to add to this posting as I bailed on the game after busting so I have no idea what happened after that! All around it was a great game and I am looking forward to some payback! Look out Christine, IT’s ON!!!! LOL

Ron, I have a "special" BBQ burger with your name on it at the next game at my place. Not only does it have donkey meat in it, you may find some bit & pieces of green grass in it! Smile

Look how excited Corey was right after he took down that big pot with his second Aces in a row...

The craziest hand is when we were down to seven-handed. First to act is Angela, under the gun, she folds. Followed by Mike and Corey; both fold. Fourth to act is Marcel who opens the pot with a standard bet. Christine is next who re-raises. Now Ron, who pushes all-in. I'm last to act and fold easily. Action back on Marcel... he goes into the tank and thinks about it for a really long time.

Marcel thinking Christine waiting patiently...

Ron relaxing... he already pushed - no more decision for him.

Marcel finally decides to push all-in and Christine insta-calls.

Preflop Preflop after everybody has shown their cards

Everybody flips over their cards. Ron has AT, Marcel has KK, and Christine has AA. What hand! Wait though... it gets crazier!

Just because I'm a math guy, let's look at the statistics. christine is 74.46% to win, 1.13% to tie. Marcel is 18.73% to win, 0.34% to tie. Ron is 5.67% to win, 1.13% to tie.

The flop comes Eight of Clubs Queen of Hearts Nine of Spades. Christine is still way ahead. But now, Ron, who was the furthest behind, has a gutshot to win the whole thing! The odds are still heavily in Christine's favor though.

Christine is 71.87% to win, Ron is 9.41% to win, and Ron is 18.72% to win (no chance for ties)

The turn comes Four of Spades and doesn't change anything.

The odds are now 85.71% for Christine, 4.76% for Marcel and 9.52% for Ron.

The river... Jack of Diamonds! Ron wins the whole thing with a straight!

The hand

The only other thing I have to add is the last hand that I played.

I weasle my way in with King of Hearts Queen of Hearts in a four-way limp pot.

The flop comes QJ4. Ron is first to act (he was in the big blind) and bets $1000, I push, and folds back to Ron who doesn't think very long and calls. He turns over KK! Well played Ron - I never would have put you on KK.

Good game everybody! Hope to see you all at Jim's!
