Hey everybody!
For those of you who don't know, let me bring you up to speed on the Justin's situation:
Originally, doctors had told Jeff that it was 99.9% sure that Justin had Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After a long series of test and many trips back and forth to the IWK in Halifax, doctors were stunned to discover that Justin was in fact cancer free! Jeff has shared with me that this whole experience has made him and his son stronger and that he was overwhelmed by the support he was shown by all who know him. Doctor's will still be running tests on Justin to pinpoint exactly what the problem is, however, it's great to know that Justin has been confirmed to be 100% CANCER FREE.
This is absolutely great news! However, Justin still has multiple lumps in his neck, meaning there are still a lot of tests and a boatload of trips to the IWK in store for Justin and Jeff over the next little while.
In light of this great news, we thought it would be more appropriate if we moved the game from a public game to a home game.
So... this said, here is the new information.
When: Sunday, May 27th, 2007
Where: Jeff's Studio
Buy-In: $20
Starting Chips: 1500
Starting Blinds: 10/20
All of the the money from the buy-ins will go to Jeff and Justin; however, we have some great prizes for the payouts:
1st: 2 Via Rail tickets to Halifax + PokerStars Prize Package
2nd: 2 Via Rail tickets to Halifax
3rd: Car Detailing Gift Certificate (Approx. Value: $150)
4th: Cargo and James Tea Gift Basket
5th: Asurion / PokerRoom package
That's right! All you need to do is make it to top two, and you are guaranteed 2 round trip tickets to Halifax!
Jeff has also said that if more money is raised than what is needed, he will donate all additional money to the Moncton Lion's Sick Children's Fund. The organization that helped him out right from the get-go, no questions asked.
We will also be selling raffle tickets for a beautiful poker table. The price for the tickets are 1 for $2, 3 for $5, or 10 for $10. The table will be at the game so everybody can see it. So bring some extra money for the tickets!!
So, that's it. Come out, have a few drinks, win some prizes, donate to a great cause.... See you at the tables!
