Mystery Prizes

by Dave Robichaud • March 1, 2007

So, at the beginning of the season, the council decided there will be 5 mystery awards; prizes given out for players' accomplishments, or misfortune.

Well, they were such a mystery, that we overlooked one! An award was to be given out for the first player who won back to back points games.

Well, back in November, Christine did it! Congratulations Christine!
For her prize, Christine was able to choose between PokerRoom cards, PokerRoom fitted caps, PokerRoom tuques, PokerStars ball caps, and PokerStars T-shirts... she chose the very nice, high quality, PokerRoom cards!

I felt so bad about overlooking the award, that we had a whole ceremony for her. Balloons, noise makers, confetti, cake... the works! Take a look at the event:

Sorry Christine, and enjoy your cards!

For those of you who are curious, the following is a summary of the awards, and who won them:

1. THE SHORTSTACK! The player who is the shortest stack at the final table - Tony Knockwood
2. THE BACK TO BACK WINNER! The player who wins back to back qualified points games - Christine Lewis
3. THE BAD BEAT! The player who loses an all-in situation by his/her opponent hitting a 2-outter or less - Maurel Cormier
4. THE MARCEL FLUSH CHASE AKA THE MALUSE! The player who loses an all-in situation versus Marcel, when the all-in was performed on the flop, and Marcel was 4 to a flush, with no obvious hand besides the flush draw - Nobody
5. THE DOUBLE KO! The player who knocks out two players simultaneously in one hand - Maurel Cormier

I hope everybody realizes that this picture is NOT actually for the MPC award... but something entirely different. I do have mad Photoshop Skillz though... so you can't even tell I put a deck of cards in her hand!

yeah..I don't believe that. I'm sure this took place on a typical 3 hour lunch break.

Oof! Somebody had a bad/busy day at work!

Maybe Ken should apply at UPS if his job is so stressful. Dave is pretty good with photoshop isn't he? Since my hair is blonde now and all...or is that grey...

alright, relax everyone. I guess joking is harder to interpret when it's typed. Very sorry.
Christine Lewis 03/02/2007 16:52
I am disappointed no one noticed anything else about the picture.

errr... I guess it IS hard to decipher whether or not somebody is joking on here, because I was joking as well.

hmmm! Dave looks suspiciously taller in this picture. Footstool anyone?
