Ok boys and girls! First points game of the second season... and it was a wild one! 11 came out - which was a tight squeeze, but we managed to get a decent game in. Post your thoughts here!
I will, however, mention one thing that, to me, is a super funny/awesome story:
I would say we are at least half way through the night. Only about 3 people have been knocked out and the blinds are sitting relatively high at 50/100.
The next part, I'm a little fuzzy on, but I believe Ron was the dealer - small blind to Marcel, big blind to Julie. Fold all around the table until we hit Carole - she pushes all in for a grand total of approximately $400 in chips. Charla calls, Ron folds, Marcel folds, Julie calls.
There's about $1200 in the pot, and nobody shows their cards because, obviously, Charla and Julie are still active in the hand. It's checked to the river (as everyone suspected), but then, on the river, Julie bets about 300. A pensive Charla is a little perplexed, and after a minute or two of thinking, finally folds her hand.
The cards are flipped over, Julie had nothing - queen high - and Carole hit bottom pair. Carole triples up and eventually goes on to win the entire tournament.
The thing is - if Charla wouldn't have folded, she would have won the hand with middle pair and that would have been the end of the line for Carole.
Don't get me wrong, it made for a wildly intresting night, and, besides myself, I love to see Carole win, but I have two words for everybody: Implicit Conspiracy.
... and that's all I have to say about that. I won't even talk about the horrible beats I had. HORRIBLE I TELL YOU.
Great time had by all - thanks for hosting Sherry... it was awesome!

Maybe you'll leave it at that Dave but I won't. IMPLICIT COLLUSION when one player is all in and more than one player calls... check to the river! unless of course you make a monster hand that is almost guaranteed to take out the all in player... It would be unethical to actually say this at the table "hey wanna check to the river so we have a better chance of knocking that persone out?" because then it becomes no longer implicit. When you have a chance to knock someone out of the game stack the odds on your side.
And that's all I have to say about that.
Congratulations Carole for taking it down. That'll learn them!

Not quite a conspiricy...here's what I was thinking.
Carole when all in pre-flop. From Carole's face, she didn't seem to have much. I put Charla on a small pair. She checked, so I though I would bet $300(min. bet) and get her to fold...and so she did. I knew my my Ace high was weak, but still though I could take it. Carole had the small pair. Oh well!
I did make a really stupid play which cost me the game. I figured I was really small stacked so I called all in. As I'm counting my chips I realized that those white chips I had were now worth 500 and not 5. ![]()
